Chedi Sri Suriyothai

The chedi Sri Suriyothai is honoring Queen Suriyothai, who gave her life in 1548 when fighting the invading Burmese army. It was built by King Chakrapat at Wat Suan Sope-sawan, which doesn't exist anymore today. The motion picture with the same name is a good historic document about the time and Thai culture. Inside the chedi stands a statue of Phra Buddha Suriyothai Sirikitti Tikayumongkhol.
