The Ancient Siam Civilization of
Wat Wora Pho
Wat Wora Pho is also called Wat Rakhang. It is actually one of the first temples we had visited back in the year 2000 when a taxi driver from Bangkok ripped us off for a half-day trip up to Ayutthaya (that's why we only take my own taxi driver now).
The temple dates back to approximately A.D. 1610. The main structure at Wat Wora Pho is the prang, of which nowadays the square base remains. Behind it is a seated Buddha image and on the other side is the ruined base of a Wihan building.
