Wat Arun
Wat ARUN RATCHA WARARAM is on the other side of the river in Thonburi. It can almost be considered the symbol of Bangkok because of the distinctive look of it’s central Prang (a stepped type of Chedi, which derived from the Khmer architecture), which is decorated with thousands of pieces of Chinaware. This temple already existed before Bangkok was founded, but it looked different at the time. It is also called the ‘temple of dawn’ because that’s the time when it is best photographed (besides at sunset).
