Wat Bang Pramung  

16 km south of Nakhon Sawan over country roads and rice fields is Wat Bang Pramung. During the weekend there is a market behind the temple and on the klong (canal) behind the temple is a small floating market with locals paddling here to sell their goods. People from the West are rarely seen here as they announced my name and where I was from over the loudspeaker. A local monk told me that the two temple buildings (which were under renovation during our visit in February 2003) were 200 and 100 years old. This here is really Thailand pure!
