Wat Karuna
Wat Karuna is the the temple for the nearby Chao Phraya Dam. While the dam itself is not worth a visit, it offers a bunch of restaurants with good food, but prices higher than those on an beach resort. My Thai friend got so mad at those prices which were charged for both of us that he swore never to come back here. On the positive side, the temple offers a highly respected Ayutthaya-style Buddha image, named Phra Phutta Maha Sila or Luang Phor Hin. Also worthwhile to note are the late Ayutthaya-style bai sema - stone tablets erected at the cardinal and sub-cardinal points of the building marking the area of consecrated ground on which the building stands.
