Wat Khao Bamphen Bun

On the way south to Sattahip and then on to Rayong Province one passes this large Buddha image sitting quietly on a nearby hill. There is nothing going on at this small temple. Even the monks seemed surprised that someone had stopped and walked up the hill. There seems to have been construction going on at one point for new temple buildings, but it seemed rather deserted when we visited in June 2003. Besides the houses for the monks there was only what appeared to be an ubosot on the foot of the hill.
