Wat Pa Pradu
Updated in 2008: Wat Pa Pradu was our first temple in Rayong Province on both trips. While the old ubosot was under renovation and closed on our first trip in 2003, we were able to enter it five years later. The seated Buddha image appeard to be new and was an Indian-style image in meditation pose. The Ubosot itself had doorways underneath the building, which allowed visitors to walk through underneath the building and out the other side. The temple also has a huge new building on it's compound which seems to be reserved for special occations. Located in the Viharn is a reclining Buddha image which is unique because it lies on it's left side. It is of early Ayutthaya / third period U-thong-style. And there is a large seated Ayutthaya-style Buddha image, called Phra Pa Lilai.
