Wat Paknam
Wat Paknam or Wat Samut Khongkha is located outside of Rayong city on the way to the beaches. A little away from the temple but located on it's adjacent grounds is Pagoda Island with a white Chedi called Phra Chedi Klang Nam. It sits on an island and is about 200 years old. The idyllic view we were expecting though was wiped off our minds by a construction zone which place the Chedi on a red brick square with no trees or plants. Originally the Chedi sat in the middle of Rayong River, letting fishermen know that they had reached the city. Following the bridge across the river leads to the fishing villages and beaches.
