Wat Wang Wiwekaram
Local people call the temple itself Wat Mon, referring to the many Mon people in the area and the Mon village right next to the temple. The late Abbot Luang Phor Uttama protected the Mon people. The huge and beautiful chedi is constructed in the style of the Mahabodhi stupa in Bodhgaya in India. From up here one has a wonderful view of the mountains and the huge lake below. Luang Phor Uttama commissioned the beautiful Buddha image of Phra Buddha Room Hin Orn himself. It is made of white marble and was carved in Burma. We visited the temple once in 2003 and again in 2008.
