Wat Chaiyo Worawihan
Our last temple to visit in Ang Thong province on this day trip from Bangkok. The Phra Maha Buddha Phim image, also called Luang Phor To, was created by Somdej Phra Phuthacharn, the abbot of Wat Rakhang in Thonburi. The Buddha image collapsed twice and had to be rebuilt. The Wihan is built as a mixture of Thai and Gothic architectural styles. In a building connected to the Wiharn are more beautiful statues and murals and one of the other buildings on the temple grounds contains a huge statue of Somdej Phra Phutthachan, which is the biggest cast figure of the highly referred monk.
