Wat Phra That Cho Hae

Outside Phrae on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley with rice fields stands the "temple of the relic wrapped in a xishuangbanna cloth". It's a busy temple on weekends. The gold plated 33 meters chedi is of Chiang Saen style. This was our first temple to visit on our second large tour through Lanna for which Phrae was our first stop. Outside the cloister is the shrine of Phra Chao Than Chai Buddha, which is the white structure in the foreground.
