Wat Somdet
We weren't really planning to visit this meditation center in Wiang Sa in the Thai province of Nan. We only saw a sign on the road that there would be the largest wooden standing Buddha image, so we visited it. The temple hosts indeed a large standing image, a Guanyin shrine (also known as Avalokiteshvara, which represents the Bodhisattva of merci) and an elaborately decorated chedi in the back of the temple building.
