Wat Nantharam
One of our most favourite temples in Thailand! We went to Wat Nantharam first in 2004 and again in 2008. The second time we actually arrived during a festival. After the ceremony we spoke with the abbot of the temple and a friendly monk was kind enough to show us every detail of the temple and explained a lot of the history of the temple to us. Even new Buddha images which were just placed in the temple at this very ceremony were shown to us. It is a Shan-style wooden building with a multi-tiered roof, a ceiling which is decorated with colored glass and 68 pillars covered with black lacquer and gilded. The principal Buddha image is made of teak wood and is done in Mandalay-style - Perfect Beauty!
