Wat Doi Ngam Muang
On a hilltop in the city of Chiang Rai lies Wat Doi Ngam Muang. This is where King Mangrai's ashes are located and a statue next to the main temple building reminds of the founder of Chiang Rai. The temple was built in 1489 but it is believed to have been a place of worship long before that.
