Wat Yai Takinaram

Wat Yai Takinaram

We have only visited one temple in Nakhon Nayok so far, but Wat Takinaram (or Thakkhinaram)  is certainly one of my favorite ones so far. It is an old temple, which was built by Lao people in 1780. The old Phra Ubosot is built by artisans from Vientiane and though it has been renovated and re-built it is a perfect example of a Lao-style temple. It has beautifully carved doors, a simple but impressively painted ceiling and the gable is still in it's orginal wood carving.
