Wat Phra Sing
The sequence of temples shown here for Chiang Mai actually follows our sequence of visits. It is all walk able from here and with several hundred temples in Chiang Mai, the 'Temple of the Lion Buddha' is a good start. This is a large area of buildings here, with the main viharn shown above and the inside of a smaller viharn shown below. The smaller viharn Lai Kham is actually one of the main attractions. It was originally built in 1345 and is a very important example of Lanna art. Lanna being the old name of the Northern Kingdom before Thailand was founded. The image below is Phra Sihing Buddha, a highly revered image.
