Phra Mahathat Chedi Noppamathaneedol
Also located on Doi Suthep this Chedi was built by the Royal Thai Air Force to commemorate H.M The King's 60th Birthday. Set within flowers and ponds and sometimes completely emerged in the clouds, this is still a place of worship, containing the relics of Lord Buddha. Whe we visited a group of western tourists in shorts and muscle shirts caused most Thai visitors to shake their heads in dis-believe (which they don't do of course) due to their loud and rude behavior. Signs on the way up in English were obviously not clear enough for them.
