Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao
This is Lampang's principal temple and is located on the River Wang. The Emerald Buddha, which is now in the Royal Palace in Bangkok, was enshrined here for 32 years. Impressive is also the Burmese-style open-sided mondop below, which features a beautiful Mandalay-style Buddha image, one of the finest ones we have seen. In the larger Viharn is the statue of Phra Chao Thongtip, which is of Chiang Saen-style. The temple is now connected with Wat Suchadaram, formerly a seperate temple.
