Wat Phipat Mongkhon
We just found Wat Phipat Mongkhon because we followed some roadsigns advertising for "golden Buddha images". This temple compound is huge and gets a fair amount of Thai worshippers. While the new Ubosot (above) is nice to see, even though it wasn't finished yet when we visited in 2006, the real attraction is in the living quarters of the monks. There are so many old images in the rooms that it is hard to stay focused. The rooms are litteraly filled with Buddha images. The temple here also rents (Buddha images cannot be bought in the Thai culture) a variety of small and suposedly old images, for which a big market exists in Thailand.
