Wat Pha Fang

Chedi of Wat Pha Fang

A very quite Shan temple, which we visited in 2002 and 2007. The large temple building has an impressive interior with several Mandalay-style Buddha images and large teak wood pillars. The Ubosot next to the chedi is a beautiful whitewashed building with gold decorated windows and walls (in 2007, while the picture below is from 2002). Inside the otherwise empty building is a large seated Mandalay-style Buddha image and a the ceiling tiles are especially noteworthy for it's decoration including lower hanging miniature statues of heavenly beings.
