Wat Si Khun Muang
Wat Si Khun Muang, built in 1834, is located along the magnificent Mekong River in Chiang Khan. It contains the beautiful and distinct Lan Chang-style image of Phra Nagprok. It is a beautiful site and the only downside for us was the perceived unfriendliness by it's monks. Loud rock music filled the temple grounds while an older monk laying in his hammock refused to answer any of our questions. Surprisingly Chiang Khan has a lot of western tourists, small hotels and restaurants and we hoped that tourism didn't already overrun this temple.
