Wat Sri Suphan 

Wat Sri Suphan was next on our list to visit, and we were so amazed by this temple that we actually went back several times. The village around the temple is a well-known center of silver-smiths, thus several shops sell silver items. They also work in the temple, which houses a school for silver smiths. Thai Lacquer-ware can also be bought at the temple. During our visit we were invited by a monk to attend the "chofa" raising ceremony of the new Ubosot, which was attended by high level monks, the governor and the mayor of chiang mai. Chofa's being the end roof-ridge finials of the temple building. Important Buddha images are also installed at this temple in both the Viharn and the Ubosot.
