Wat Nasam

Wat Nasam was the main reason for us to plan a special trip to Surin province. We had been on the lookout for this temple for some years and finally managed to find it (not after erroneously visiting nearby Wat Nasom first). Wat Nasam contains the beautiful old Buddha statue of Phra Buddha Roob Mai a mix of Uthong and Sukhothai-styles. We had the pleasure to spent a lot of time with the abbot of the temple and to get a special tour through the temple buildings, which allowed us also to pay our respect to this important Buddha image.
