Wat Prasat
Wat Prasat turned into an interesting visit for us. The Abbot of the temple didn't want to open the Ubosot for us because it had been broken into just days before we came. We were however able to show our pure interest to pay our respect to the Buddha image inside and thus the doors were opened for us. Unfortunately the burglars had broken off an ear of one of the statues to "test" the authenticity of the statue, hence we are not showing any pictures here. VERY VERY sad, to see what some people are prepared to do! The Ubosot also contains some beautiful murals along the upper parts of the walls. Another sad thing we were able to witness was the infection of the temple walls by some sort of bug which seems to eat away the structures. Hundreds of bugs covered the floor and the crumbled remains of the walls were all over.
