Temples of Thailand - a photographic journey

Wat Sa Po Kaeo
We had a perfect day to visit Phrae on our second trip to this city in 2007. All the temples were open or we met friendly people to talk with and got the doors opened for us. Following an all day temple tour, Wat Sa Po Kaeo was the last one on our tour and we found an amazing Burmese-style temple with a large wooden building and a Burmese-style chedi in the park-like garden. Two abbots from other temples had just entered the building and were engaged in a talk with the abbot of the Wat Sa Po Kaeo and we quietly sat down to enjoy the richly decorated interior with many Burmese Buddha images. However the abbot interrupted his talk and allowed us to pay our respect to the Buddha images from up close and handed us some presents and blessed them for us. A great way to end an already perfect day!
