Wat Mueang Chang Dtai

Also located along highway 1169 is Wat Mueang Chang Dtai. When we visited in December 2007 the temple had just finished the ordination ceremony for new monks and people were cleaning up. The abbot of the temple asked us to sit down and after a short talk with us he wrote down a prayer in Northern language and in Thai language, which will protect us when travelling around Thailand. Also this temple faces west instead of east. When we asked the abbot, the answer was simply because the highway passed by the other side.
