Wat Phra That Beng Sakat

Wat Phra That Beng Sakat

Wat Phra That Beng Sakat is another temple in Pua which we missed on our trip in 2004. Returning for a trip over the mountain range to the Border of Laos, we stopped here in December 2007. This is an ancient temple and pagoda going back to the 13th Century A.D.  It is a beautiful place on the top of a small mountain in rural Nan. One white Buddha statue is located in the otherwise plain temple building. This temple has no painted backdrop behind the Buddha image. Instead it is decorated with a set of 3 larger mirrors, which reflect the inside of the building.
