Wat Bun Yuen
We had passed Wat Bun Yeun in Wiang Sa several times, but never had enough time to see this important temple. Finally in 2007 we scheduled a long stop to really enjoy the beauty of this temple. Having gone through several name changes, the temple was moved here from it's original location in A.D. 1784. In A.D. 1800 the beautiful standing Buddha image was added to the temple. This is also were today's name comes from (Yeun means standing). Besides the Buddha image, the pagoda in the back of the Viharn (and Ubosot) there are some notable details like the richly decorated entrance area and the eave-brackets on the sides of the building.
