Wat Klai Kang Won
Wat
Klai Kang Won was pointed out to us by a restaurant owner who runs a good
restaurant across the rice fields from this temple. It is also referred to as
Khao Saraphat Si Charoen Tham. Upon leaving our ID at the temple's gate, we were
able to experience a very special place of meditation in the middle of Thailand. The huge temple ground includes 2000 rai and more than 12000 animals, like
deer and peacocks. After we visited with a nun on the top of the hill, who
showed us the artificial mountain top, which actually forms a huge dome covering
one of the largest footprints we had ever seen, we had a long visit with the
abbot of the temple. Our visit took much longer than anticipated and we
sincerely enjoyed visiting such a special place.
