Wat Sri Wanaram

Wat Sri Wanaram is located along the highway 3 between Pattaya and Chonburi. We actually had to do a U-Turn and were stopped by the same police roadblock twice :-(  

We had noticed this temple on several days passing by and saw that it was always open, so we stopped and visited the Ubosot. It contains one central Buddha image and has beautiful, though modern, mural paintings on it's walls. Behind the Ubosot is Phra Boromathat Chedi which contains a relic and many Buddha statues with gestures we had never seen before. We knew that there was a gesture for every weekday but here we also saw gestures for the year of birth.
