Phra Phanatsabodi Pavilion
A short drive east of the city of Chonburi is the small town of Phanat Nikhom, known for its old market. In the center of town is the Pavilion for Phra Phanatsabodi, an ancient Buddha image from the Dvaravati period. It is about 1200 to 1300 years old. Of course this one here is a replica and the original statue is kept safe. It is carved from a black stone from India. The Buddha stands on what appears as a combination of Garuda, a cow and a swan.
