Wat Sri Sumang Wanaram
Mukdahan is located on the Mekong River across from Laos. Not much going on here. We haven't seen a single tourist in the three days we were there, which was actually true for most of the visits we had to Mukdahan since 2002. But there is some nice examples of Lao-style temples, like Wat Sri Sumang Wanaram. During our last visit in May 2008 we had a brief glimpse into the old Viharn (actually we were not sure if it is an old Ubosot) which contained some nice Buddha statues protected by Mucalinda, the seven-headed serpent.
