Wat Khao Kok

In the mountains to the north of Nakhon Nayok town is Wat Khao Kok. It is fenced in by military bases and military schools and we actually had to pass through their gates and got the ok to pass on to the temple. While there are no significant temple buildings on the temple ground, we wanted to see the paintings of the Buddha on the rocks. We had to walk with a young novice to find the place amongst the trees and up on the mountain, which was not an easy task, given the thick brush and hundreds of mosquitoes. As we visited in September of  2008 the temple was in the process of building a new Ubosot.
