Wat Amarintharam

Wat Amarintharam is located in Khet Bangkok Noi and is an ancient temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period. It is difficult to get to with all the canals and two lane streets blocking access to the small soi which leads to the temple. The attraction of the temple is the Buddha statue of Luang Pho Bot Noi, which is as the name says, located in the small Ubosot behind the main building. It is a Sukhothai-style image. The temple was heavily damaged by Allied bombings during World War II and the only building which was still standing was the small Ubosot.
