Wat Phra Khong Karam
The beautiful country road connecting Mae Lao and Mae Suay is a nice side trip and offers several small country temples and the mentioned Phra That Chom chedis. The first temple we found on this side trip was Wat Phra Khong Karam in Mae Suay. Inside the Ubosot is a white marble statue of Phra Sing. Interestingly the pillars holding the structure are made of cement and not wood. We always questioned why modern temples have to be build by using lots of lots of trees, so we were pleased to see that this was not the case here. Though not as beautiful as trees but much better for the environment.
