Wat Ratchanadta (Lohaprasad)
This is one of the temples which is not too much visited by tourists, even though it is architecturally a specialty. Among the buildings is the so-called Lohaprasad, a kind of a spired tower building – the Iron Palace. From the tower one has a good view over Bangkok and the busy Ratchadamnoen (one of the main streets). It also offers a view to the nearby Golden Mount of Wat Saket. The Bot and the other buildings are kind of quiet and mainly used by the monks for praying. I have spent a lot of time at this temple with monks in interesting discussions and in buildings, which are not normally open for the public. A good way to get acquainted with Buddhism, rather than through reading books.
