Wat Bo Luang
Wat Bo Luang is a small temple nestled along the hills in Bo Kluea valley along the border with Laos. This is as far as it goes here but you will be met with a very natural setting, small villages and green mountains. Wat Bo Luang actually had a beautiful old temple hall which was replaced by an ugly concrete building. We felt sorry for the old Buddha image inside the construction zone. Another building (Viharn or Ubosot) was actually used for storage and was not too attractive. A footprint of Buddha is located to the side of it. Given the remoteness of this location, one actually has to find accomodation in this beautiful valley along the border with Laos. We usually stay at a beautiful resort called Bo Klua View when we visit this area, a place we know well and would recommend to our readers. It is, like our Buddha images - a place in perfect beauty!
