Wat Klang
A majestic Ubosot stands at the center of Wat Klang in Buriram city. We tried numerous times to visit this temple over the years and either could not find it, had the wrong map or no more time available. So, finally in late 2008 we specially planned a visit and made it, despite the fact that our map showed two different temples at the same spot. Over 1000 monks were present at the temple to do their final test in Buddhist studies on the day we visited, yet we were able to meet the abbot of the temple and pay our respect to the main Buddha image inside the Ubosot, which is a Sukhothai-style image of Luang Phor To. The temple remains closed because items were stolen before. We actually went back to Wat Klang in early 2009 to meet the abbot and rent some Buddha images of Luang Phor To. Wat Klang is our 900th temple we featured on these pages!
