Wat Pho Nimit
Wat Pho Nimit Sathit Mahasimaram was another temple which was recommended to us by a friendly visitor to chimburi.com. It is located not far from the Phra Chao Taksin statue in Thonburi. Since most buildings were closed except for a small Viharn with a statue of Somdet Daeng, we spoke with a high-ranking monk in the temple who explained to us that the temple grounds belonged to the parents of Somdet Daeng a former Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, who in honour of his parents built this temple back in the 1870s. As a specialty the Sema boundary stones of this temple are set at a wider range around the Ubosot, which allows religious rites to be conducted also outside the Ubosot. This is actually the only temple of the Maha Nikaya sect which was granted such a great consecrated boundary.
