Big Buddha Chumphon

For the lack of a real name we called this The Big Buddha of Chumphon. I am sure there are more big Buddhas in Chumphon but this one just south of the city on the way to Surat Thani most people will pass by. It is visible from far (roughly KM 17) and one passes through a temple on the way up. Construction was still ongoing when we visited in March 2009 to build another building. The sign said that about 8 Million Baht were spent on the Buddha image alone.
