Wat Phra That Tham Khwan Mueang
Continuing our trip from Chumphon to Surat Thani, we stopped in this huge temple of Wat Phra That Tham Khwan Mueang. We thought it would be a short stop which actually turned into a long one. The beautiful Ubosot was closed but is still nice to see from the outside. The real attraction at this very quiet meditation temple is the Phra That on the top of a hill and the cave underneath it. The temple was proclaimed in A.D. 1982 and it became an outstanding natural project where the temple harmoniously blends with the environment. We were told that the monks here only eat once a day and lots of worshippers and merit makers were doing their tasks around the temple.
