Wat Wari Banphot
Wat Waree Banphot was one of three temples we visited in Ranong province. It seems to be THE stop for tour busses, at least Thai tour busses because the temple was quite busy when we visited. The temple is mainly known for its large reclining Buddha statue called Phra Buddha Saiyat, which lies differently from most other reclining Buddhas because the feet of the Buddha are not on top of each other. H.M. The King donated the eyes for the image. Initially the temple was called Wat Bang Non and another important structure is the Ubosot with it's horn-like finials on the roof. The temple is also well known for the highly respected meditation monk, Luang Phor Duan.
