Wat Si Ubonat Thalam
The temple is also called Wat Si Ubon Rattanaram or Wat Si Thong. It resembles the Marble Temple of Bangkok, but has the advantage that one doesn't face hundreds of tourists here. It is a royal temple and houses Ubon's most sacred Buddha image Phra Kaew Busrakham, which is more than a thousand years old and of Chiang Saen style. Today the 12,7 cm tall image has been created from a very rare topaz crystal and is located high above the altar above the large Buddha image in a special niche.
