Wat Nam Rop

Wat Nam Rop is a little bit off the normal track in the back country of Surat Thani.  We combined it with a trip to the awesome Khao Sok National Park. The temple has a beautifully decorated Ubosot in which an Ayutthaya-style Buddha image is placed. Attempts to steal the image have happened in the past and one of the abbots of the temple has put a spell in place to protect it, which is written in stone next to the Buddha image. We were allowed to visit the image under the watchful eyes of several monks and laymen.
