Wat Suan Luang

A lot of convincing had to be done before we were allowed to see the Ubosot of Wat Suan Luang to the south of Nakhon Si Thammarat city. The abbot of the temple was very sceptical at first but after a long talk he opened the Ubosot and showed us the amazing mural paintings inside. It's actually a mix of stucco work and paintings which make it so amazing. There stucco work on the front side of the Ubosot showing a footprint and a standing Buddha amongst other details. The only disappointing thing is that the modern electrical cables and switches had been mounted right over the ancient murals.
