Wat Kradangna
Wat Kradangna in the district of Khanom had been long on our list to visit for it's excellent mural paintings and an Ayutthaya-style Buddha image inside the Ubosot. Unfortunately we had put our visit off to the end of our trip to the South. When we finally made it we had to learn that a fire broke out and all we could see was black walls from the smoke. None of the paintings were visible in March 2009 and it will take an enormous effort to restore it. Careless handling of a burning candle had caused the fire, which is the reason why we always put out our candles when there is nobody in the temple building to watch out.
