Wat Chalong
Wat Chalong is a very touristy temple. No wonder, given the close proximity to the beaches and the town of Phuket. It is also very noisy at times, specially when the fireworks are set off to make merit. The temple is dedicated to three venerable monks, Luang Phor Chaem (1827-1908), Luang Phor Chuang (1875-1945) and Luang Phor Kluam (1901-1978). However, it is worth visiting the temple, even if it is just to get away from the hectic life at the beach resorts, the bars and the other influences of Patong town. For many tourists to Thailand Wat Chalong will be the closest encounter they will ever have with Thai culture.
