Wat Sam Phan Thawong
From Wat U Phai we continued walking on our tour through Chinatown towards Wat Pathum Kong Kha, which was closed as on our former visits and decided to go to Wat Samphanthawongsaram Worawiharn instead. Which was a good decision, as this is a very important temple in Bangkok. It dates back to the Ayutthaya period. The huge Ubosot building has several floors and a high ceiling and contains a seated Buddha image made of wood, with the arms made of wood and covered with gold. The temple is connected to the famous monk Luang Phu Waen, with lots of pictures and information about him on the lower floor of the Ubosot. There are also historic photos of H.M. the King visiting with Luang Phu Waen.
